The Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream uses Manuka Honey as the key ingredient to protect skin from becoming dry and flaky. It is specially designed for everyday use on sensitive areas such as the eyelids, lips and other areas of skin that are prone to becoming dry, 

Many dermatological conditions, including seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis can contribute to dry, itchy, flaky skin and are often present with dry eye conditions such as Blepharitis and Meibomian Gland Disease (MGD)

The Optimel Manuka + Eyelid Cream draws on the natural healing properties of honey which has been recognised throughout the world over many centuries and highlighted in a 2016 study Honey: A Therapeutic Agent for Disorders of the Skin 

Manuka Honey is special because it is created by bees feeding on the nectar of flowers from the Leptospermum tree, otherwise known as the Tea Tree which is native to Australia and New Zealand. This deep golden and highly viscous honey has natural  antiviral and antibacterial properties that kill germs and bacteria. 

The antibacterial properties of Manuka Honey maintains moisture and speeds up the growth of new tissue to heal skin. There are many compounds in honey that function as antioxidants to reduce inflammation and promote healing. 

The other key ingredient in the Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream is Jojoba Oil which is unique in its similarity to Sebum - the protective oily substance produced on the human skin. Jojoba Oil has a high concentration of Vitamin E and helps to soften and restore the skins natural structure, smoothing dryness, preventing flakiness and improving skin elasticity.

The Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream has a light, non oily feel which gently absorbs into the eyelid to soften and protect this delicate skin.

How do I use Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream?

The soft, light textured cream smooths easily onto the eyelid. Apply with clean hands onto clean skin twice daily or when the skin is feeling dry.

Dispense a small amount of Cream onto the tip of a finger and gently apply to one eyelid while your eye is closed. Avoid direct contact into the eye. Repeat for the other eyelid.

The Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream can be incorporated into your daily skin and eye care routine. If you are using the DRYEYEKIT we would suggest applying the Manuka Eyelid Cream after cleaning the eye with a Blephadex Wipe and after applying Optimel or Hylo Forte eyedrops. The Manuka Eyelid Cream can be applied under make-up.

Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream is also suitable for lips and any areas of skin prone to being dry and flaky.

What precautions should I take in using Optimel Manuka Eyelid Cream?

When using for the first time patch test on a small area of skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use

Avoid direct contact on the eye.

For serious skin conditions please consult your health professional before use of this product. 

Not suitable for people with allergies to bees or bee products, benzoate preservatives

Replace cap after use and do not over tighten the cap, 

Single person use only, discard 3 months after opening.
